CSRD: The European Parliament appoints those who are responsible for negotiations within the Juri – Forbes France Commission Commission

Last February, the European Commission adopted a proposal for significantly reduce the requirements for the publication of the Sustainability of Company in the European Union (EU).

Initially, the aim was to postpone until 2028 the entry into force of reporting requirements. After adopting a directive “Stop hours”Emphasis is placed on wider reforms. In anticipation of the legislative process in parliament, political parties have appointed members responsible for the implementation of the debate in the Committee on Legal Affairs, known as the Court.

Within the Green Pact for Europe, the EU has adopted a number of regulations focused on climate -related companies. It all began in 2020 before the EU taxonomy for sustainable activities, creating a classification system that allows businesses and investors to know which activities are considered to be a green or respecting climate.

In 2023, the EU adopted the Directive on the publication of information on the durability of trade durability (CSRD), which requires companies to be responsible for their greenhouse gas emissions and other environmental activities, social and administration.

After long debates in 2024, the EU adopted a directive on the duty of vigilance of companies in sustainability (CS3D), which adds additional reporting requirements and legal liability for companies with regard to their value chain.

In the summer of 2024, however, the wind began to rotate. As the financial obligations set by CSRD and CSDD have been cleaned, the business world began to put pressure to carry out reforms. During the election of the European Parliament of 2024, the burden of the weighing society became the main topic of the campaign, while the Green Treaty for Europe was predominantly questioned to explain the EU economy. The elections ended in a shift to the right. The European People’s Party (PPE), a conservative trend, has acquired armchairs, while more environmental groups, in particular renewing Europe and the Green/European Free Alliance (but), lost it.

The reform process began almost immediately in the camera. In November 2024, Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, announced its intention to review the green taxonomics, CSRD and CS3D to reduce the burden of companies. The Omnibus The Simplifying Package was officially adopted by the 26th February Commission. The proposal included an autonomous directive focused on suspension by 2028 for 2027, which is a duty to report on sustainability.

The more time goes, the more debate on a larger guideline aimed at reducing information obligations increases. While the council meetings will be held mainly behind the closed door, Parliament uses a more open legislative process. Political parties usually refer to representatives in parliament to act as their name.

This designation was made within the Court of Justice. The newsletter will be the European representative of Jörgen Warborn, oop. Other political parties have appointed fictitious newsletter to participate in this process (for each report to identify political groups within the Commission in principle, a fictitious newsletter, which will follow the development of work and negotiate compromises with news, Article 215 of the internal regulations of the European Parliament).

Abial Gilbert-D’Hallin, advisor to the European deputy Radan Kanv (PPE), wrote an excellent summary of meetings at LinkedIn.

Tobiasz Boocheński was also elected to the European Parliament in 2024. During the vote of Directive “Stop the clocks “He suggested a change that would postpone CSRD and CS3D until 2050. In the official ECR response he was quoted as said:

“Europe is paralyzed by its own bureaucracy. All serious economic indicators, including the Draghi report, show that the continent is late in the United States and China. The competitiveness of Europe is declining and Brussels reacts by symbolic gestures instead of structural changes.” »» »»

“Real deregulation means getting rid of heavy and unnecessary rules, not hiding them under new packaging or repelly a problem”continuing Tobiasz Boocheński. “The Green Pact Regulatory machine has already aroused great concerns among the leaders of the businesses. The Court of Justice is responsible for accepting the Omnibus package, but other commissions also issue opinions. Janusz Lewandowski, a member of EPPE, a newsletter, was appointed as part of the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs. The ensemble suggests that the Foreign Affairs Committee, the International Commerce, Committee on Employment and Social Affairs and the Environment, Climate and Food Safety Committee will also issue opinions. However, no newsletter has been appointed for these commissions.

The future of reporting on sustainable development in the EU remains uncertain. Postponing by 2028 was easily approved, but the level of reducing the requirements for reporting in CSRD and CS3D will be the subject of an animated debate that will not be decided before the fall of 2025.
